Our Doctors

Doctor Kris Bascomb - Port Lincoln GP

Returning to high school at 32, with three young children and husband in tow, to Adelaide they ventured as Dr Kris pursued her life long dream of becoming a Rural GP! In 10 “short” years Dr Bascomb not only completed her medical degree, but also trained in Obstetrics and anaesthetics as well, finalising her specialist training whilst her youngest son completed high school. Not without it’s challenges, Dr Bascomb founded Boston Bay family health practice in 2009 with the help of her family.

Being a solo GP for 3 years, it didnt take long for Kris to become extremely popular, in as little as two weeks she was booked for double that.

Dr Kris’s love and passion for obstetrics is beyond recognition. She has delivered over 1000 babies since 2009 & assisted with anesthetics for many more! She is a highly sought after, respected & soundly skilled female GP. We couldn't be luckier to have Dr Bascomb leading our supervision of registrar training placements, and imparting her passion for rural general practice on the future generation of GPs.

When Kris isnt delivering babies or catching up on sleep, you’ll find her enjoying her grand children, Duke(4), Jax(2), Bonnie(2), Katalina(1) & Brody (6m), developing her Skin care range for babies alchemellia or enjoying a rare weekend away to enjoy a theatre production or concert! Most recently she enjoyed Neil Finn at a day on the Green, with her husband of 34 years, & managed to catch the “rocky horror picture show” not once, but 4 times in adelaide!

Dr Janssen Ang - Port Lincoln GP

Dr Janssen Ang joined the Boston Bay team in March 2015 & has quickly become an integral and highly respected pillar in the medical community of Port Lincoln.

Dr Janssen hailed from Berri where he completed his registrar training. His skills in anaesthesia allows him to break up his consulting week with a couple of theatre lists at the hospital.

Dr Janssen has a beautiful wife, Sharon, who is expecting their third child, along with two stunning daughters, Abigail (4) and Alyssa(2).

Their weekends are usually spent enjoying life with their family and being involved in the local church (One Heart) where Janssen is frequently allowed to unleash on the drum set!

We love having Janssen as part of the Boston Bay Family, nearly as much as he loves KFC!

Doctor Chris Roeger - Port Lincoln

Dr Chris “male Chris” Roeger joined us in February 2018 for his first placement as a rural GP registrar! Bringing with him his beautiful wife, Kristy & two charming little boys, Henry (2) and Charlie (6m).

Dr Chris has quickly become a valued part of the Boston Bay team, being a Competent, hardworking and conscientious GP! He has a long term passion for rural medicine cultivated through rural placements in medical school and attachments in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Psychiatry and Emergency Medicine in order to prepare for the breadth and depth of rural general practice.

When he’s not consulting at the clinic or spending valuable time with his family, he is smashing out a casual 20 minute “park run” or enjoying a bike ride.

Doctor Lauren Christian - Port Lincoln

All the way from the UK Dr Lauren Christian joins us.  After moving to Australia Dr Lauren has gained experience working in a variety of medical and surgical specialties, paediatrics, emergency medicine and obstetrics & gynaecology, and now joins us in port Lincoln for her first placement as a GP registrar!

Dr Lauren is a highly motivated, hardworking and reliable individual, who thrives on being a valuable member of an effective team and has excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills. Dr Lauren has a specialist interest in women’s health.

Lauren is an avid cycler - in her first month rode from Port Lincoln to Coffin Bay and back again, and also enjoys "park run" on Saturday mornings!!

We are looking forward to getting to know Lauren over the next 12 months+.

Doctor Amelia De Nicola - Port Lincoln

Welcome back Doctor! Dr Amelia joined us in 2015 as a 6th year medical student completing an elective placement with Dr Kris! If following her around all hours of the day or night for 4 weeks didn't put her off General Practice, nothing will!!

We are thrilled to have Dr Amelia placed with us for 2018 for her first registrar placement.

Dr Amelia has a special interest in palliative care & aspires to incorporate this into a Rural General Practice position in the future.

When Amelia isn’t consulting or spending time with her fiance, she is dreaming of self sustainable farm life, wedding planning  and cooking up amazing meals in the kitchen.

On her first day of being in Port Lincoln, Amelia managed to bake a delicious batch of cookies, plus scones for her first morning all whilst moving in to her new home & a few weeks in to her placement threw an amazing brunch that left us full for days!

Looking forward to the next 12 months of delicious eats!
